Your vote helps charities
This year we are donating 10p to charity for every voting form returned or 20p if you vote online! Chelsea is committed to supporting local causes who will really benefit local communities: helping the homeless for example, or supporting vulnerable groups such as the elderly, the mentally ill and the disabled, health, money advice services, security and community safety.
This year you can choose to donate to the following charitable areas:
- homeless
- elderly
- disabled

- children
Take me to Chelsea Building Society Charitable Foundation website for more information.
The chart shows the split of charitable donations from the votes cast at our 2007 Annual General Meeting:
Life Cycle UK's 'Two's Company' project aims to open up a whole new world to people who are blind or visually impaired by giving them the opportunity to participate in a fun, healthy and life enhancing activity - tandem cycling! Your votes from last year meant we were able to make a donation to the project. Here's how it helped.
'The idea for Two's Company came from discussions with local blind and visually impaired people. They told us that their lack of sight stops them from participating in all sorts of activities that others take for granted. They also told us that they have very limited opportunities to take exercise, keep fit, or enjoy the local countryside. The rides offer a sensory experience and an active day out to visually impaired people, as well as a chance to socialise and make new friends.
The support of Chelsea Building Society Charitable Foundation was immensely important in the early development stages and enabled us to actually launch the project.
Our big challenge for 2008 is to involve groups of young visually impaired people in the project to teach them new skills and increase their confidence. To achieve this we need to raise funding to purchase five small framed tandems.
The feedback from participants has been fantastic and we hope to carry on running tandem rides for many years to come. For more information on our charity projects, please visit us at www.lifecycleuk.org.uk.'
