Your directors

As a member you play an important part when you vote either ‘for’ or ‘against’ the people that make up the board – whether they are directors seeking election for the first time or are existing directors who have to be re-elected by members at least every three years. There are four directors who are seeking re-election at the 2010 AGM.

The board of directors are responsible for ensuring that the Society is run in the best interests of current and future members. It is therefore important that the board is made up of people who have the skills and experience necessary to run a successful building society.

A Corporate Governance Report, which sets out how the board operates, can be found in the Annual Report and Accounts. Alternatively you can obtain a copy from any branch, or by calling the AGM Helpline number quoted in the Chairmans letter.
