Chelsea announces appointment to the board

Chelsea Building Society today announced a new Executive appointment to its Board.
Peter Ford, General Manager and Secretary, joins the Board as Resources Director with effect from 1 January 2007.
Peter Ford has worked for Chelsea for 17 years and has been part of the Executive team since 1 January 2003. He is a chartered accountant and will be responsible for the staff, communications, legal, business change and IT functions. Peter has worked in a variety of management roles in his career with Chelsea and is well known within the business. Commenting on joining the board, Peter said “I am delighted to be joining the Board. My new role actively supports our commitment to constantly improving customer service by aligning many of our support functions. It’s a new challenge and I look forward to it immensely”.
Richard Hornbrook, Director and Chief Executive commenting said, “Peter is an invaluable asset to Chelsea and its Board. His understanding of our business and the industry is excellent.”
Adding to his support of Peter, Richard said “I am keen that we continue to look very closely at our business to identify every opportunity where we can add value to our customers. I am keen to ensure that we remain within the small group of Societies who consistently demonstrate this success.”
Peter is 51, married with two children and has a keen interest in skiing, cycling and walking. He is also a director of Chelsea Mortgage Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Chelsea Building Society.
Chelsea members will have the opportunity to meet Peter at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting on 29 March and will be able to vote on Peter’s appointment at the AGM of 2008.
