Online Mortgage Application

What you will need (to get started)

For each applicant you will need to have the following information available:

  • Salary and employment details if you are employed/self-employed
  • Details of your existing mortgage if you already have one
  • Details of your current financial commitments and loans

Your information

  • The information you provide is secure. If you want to know more about our commitment to protecting your information, visit our Security Centre.
  • You can also find out how we use personal data you provide when you apply for a savings account or mortgage.
  • We use cookies in the online application. You can delete or block cookies but you may experience difficulties with the site and will not be able to apply for this mortgage if you do. By applying you agree to accept cookies from this site as explained in Privacy & Cookies.

Keeping you up to date with your application

Once you have completed a mortgage application we will keep you informed of its progress using our mortgage application tracking service. We will contact you at each of the following stages:

  • upon receipt of your application
  • when we have issued an acknowledgement, advising you of any outstanding items
  • when we have approved and issued your offer
  • when we have received your certificate of title

It is important that you provide us with a valid email address, and mobile telephone number as we will update you via SMS and email.

Existing online customers

If you are already an online customer and are not currently logged in, please log in using the link at the top of this page. Once logged in, select 'Apply now' from the 'Mortgage options' in the menu.

Our requirements

The online application is available for house purchase or remortgage only and is limited to a maximum of two applicants. It is not available for existing borrowers wanting to transfer their existing mortgage to a new property, transfer to a new mortgage product or take out a home improvement loan/further advance. If you wish to discuss these options please contact us.

We can only provide you with a mortgage if:

  • You are a UK citizen or hold a European passport
  • The property you intend to mortgage is in the UK and will be your main residence
  • All applicants are at least 18 years old

Please note:

  • If the mortgage term you are requesting extends beyond your intended retirement date then we will be unable to process your application online. You would need to contact your local branch for advice as they would need to ensure that you are comfortable with the risks associated with the application before enabling you to proceed.
  • We cannot accept applications online from married applicants or those in civil partnerships wishing to apply in their sole name.
  • If the mortgage product you choose has an arrangement fee, and part of that fee (e.g. 0.25% or £195) is payable on application, we cannot refund the amount paid if you decide not to proceed with the mortgage or change to a different product after your initial application
  • Mortgage products can be withdrawn at short notice, therefore if you already know which product you want, we recommend that you continue with your full application after you have received your lending decision

You will need to read the Initial Disclosure Document carefully before proceeding. We recommend that you print or save a copy.
