How to make payments into your account
To make payments into your account from within the UK, or to set up a Direct Debit payment from a Cash Transactor/Chelsea Share account, you'll need the details below:

Types of payment explained:
CHAPS
CHAPS are electronic payments which are treated as cleared funds as soon as they arrive in your account.
Faster Payments
Faster Payments are payments made from UK banks which provide a speedier service to customers. Examples of Faster Payments could be standing orders or internet and telephone banking payments. Faster Payments usually take 2 hours to reach your account.
BACS
BACS tend to be regular payment arrangements into accounts, such as your salary.
Direct Debits
Direct Debits are regular payment arrangements made to a the third party – e.g. utility bills, insurance premiums or subscriptions.
Cheques
You can pay a cheque into your account at any Yorkshire Building Society branch or agency. However, we do not accept cheque deposits into our online based accounts.
Cheques should be made payable to the account holder and not to the Society.
Our savings accounts use the Chelsea Building Society clearing cycle timeline, as explained below.

Paying or sending money from abroad?
Chelsea Building Society no longer offers a Foreign Money Transfer service for sending money abroad or for paying money into your account from abroad.
